This article by Andrew Sheehy, Chief Analyst at industry research firm Generator Research, paints a picture where the result of connecting AIs might be a network that looks like the internet, except where routers are replaced with artificial intelligences of different species. That could be good, or bad. According to Sheehy, when viewed at a global level, the result could be that you get a neural network which comprises potentially 1000s of individual AIs, each of which is optimised for a specific task and each of which has some scope for self-adaptation based on its environment.
